Traffic Light Shot

About the Traffic Light Shot
A layered shot works on density. Grenadine, at the bottom, is the densest — it’s essentially pomegranate-flavored sugar syrup. Orange liqueur sits in the middle; Midori melon liqueur floats on top because it’s the lightest. Pour them in reverse order over the back of a bar spoon and the three liqueurs stack cleanly into red-yellow-green, exactly mimicking a traffic light. The novelty is the point; the flavor is a fruit-punch chord that reads well to a party crowd.
Technique matters more than ingredients here. Chill every bottle for an hour first — cold liqueurs are denser and the layers hold better. Pour very slowly, directly onto the back of a bar spoon held just above the previous layer. Chilled shot glasses help. For a cleaner yellow band, swap orange liqueur for banana liqueur; the color pops brighter. A reliable bachelorette or college-reunion pour. More technical builds in the liqueur shots hub.
