Electric Lemonade Shot

About the Electric Lemonade Shot
The neon-blue lemonade that showed up at every suburban pool party, carnival and summer-camp canteen in the 1990s. Vodka and blue curaçao give the color its unmistakable fluorescent glow; lemonade carries the citrus; a splash of lemon-lime soda does the fizz. The whole thing drinks faintly artificial in the pleasant way old-school summer drinks do — exactly the thing people line up for at a Fourth of July cookout.
Serve in clear glasses on a white tray so the color shows at a distance; blue is a shot that lives or dies by presentation. Test-tube shooters are a legitimate choice here — the long thin shape makes the color read bright from across the room. For a stronger citrus hit, add a splash of fresh lemon juice at pour time. Sprite works fine in place of the soda. See the blue shots collection for more neon pours and the vodka shots hub for the summer lineup.
